South Korea visa from Kyrgyzstan: documents and process

James Space · · 3 min read

South Korea covers tourism, medical treatment, study and family visits, and it is one of the most requested destinations among our clients. The visa has a fixed fee and a predictable document set, but the consulate looks closely at the financial side of the application. Here is what to prepare and what to watch out for.

South Korea visa cost from Bishkek: $200 including the consular fee. Full details on the South Korea visa page — you pay once the visa is issued.

The basic document set

  • a passport valid for at least six months after the trip;
  • colour photos matching the consulate’s requirements;
  • a completed application form;
  • a hotel booking or proof of accommodation;
  • return flight bookings;
  • an employment or study certificate stating your income;
  • a bank statement for the recent months;
  • a copy of your national passport or ID card.

The exact list depends on your purpose of travel: a medical trip needs confirmation from the clinic, and a family visit needs an invitation and proof of the relationship.

What the consulate looks for in your finances

The Korean consulate is less interested in a single balance than in a pattern: movement on the account over several months, a steady income and an amount that matches the length and purpose of the trip. A statement showing a large sum deposited two or three days before submission tends to raise questions rather than settle them.

Ties to home

Beyond money, it matters to show the trip is temporary. A job, property, family or studies all work in your favour. Not having formal employment does not rule out a visa — it just means the case is built differently, and that is worth discussing before you apply.

Common mistakes in the application form

  1. Name or dates that do not match the passport — the most common technical hold-up.
  2. Previous visas or trips left out of the form.
  3. Hotel or flight bookings with dates that do not match the form.
  4. An employment certificate without a stamp and signature, or with an income figure that does not match the bank statement.

How much it costs

The current price is on the South Korea visa page: $200 already includes the consular fee, with no extra charges during processing. You pay for our services once the visa is issued.

Frequently asked questions

Can I apply for a Korean visa without a formal job?

A formal job is not the only way to prove income: bank statements, property documents or a sponsorship letter from someone else paying for the trip can work instead. We go through your specific situation in a consultation.

How many times can I apply for a Korean visa?

There is no limit on the number of attempts, but each application means paying the consular fee again. If a previous refusal was recent, it makes more sense to fix the reason first rather than resubmit the same documents.
